Life Christian School

Location: Life Christian School, 8881 CR 3918, Athens, TX 75752
Description: As a member school of Ambleside Schools International, it is the mission of Life Christian School administration and faculty to provide a "living education," where each child is guided and empowered to author a full and free life, a life rich in relationship to God, self, others, ideas, and all of creation. Thus, Life Christian School's primary concern is the kind of student each child is becoming, not the mastery of particular data or technique, for we are confident that the student who masters the art of learning will attain his full potential for mastering data and technique. In seeking to provide such an education, Life Christian School is guided by the spiritual principles of Jesus Christ and the pedagogical insights of Charlotte Mason.

St George School

Meeting Location: Denton, TX
Contact: Benjamin Lyda
Community Description:  Along with a clear statement of Charlotte Mason's teaching in blogs and the school's Vision Statement, the site itself is a doorway to the school itself, where we train our teachers in the CM pedagogy. Our teachers understand the method of a CM lesson, the concept of "masterly inactivity," and the basics of the three tools of education, atmosphere, discipline, and living ideas. In the coming year we will be adding Charlotte Mason book clubs for the public, but especially for our parents who are learning how to carry over into their homes what their children are getting at school.

Some members even put their own together. The leader has homeschooled her own children for 25 years using Charlotte Mason's methods. She has five children. Three are CM homeschool graduates.
