Great River Learning

Overview

GREAT RIVER LEARNING is a non-profit education organization founded to support educators at home and in schools in the pursuit of humane education as envisioned by turn-of-the-century educator Charlotte M. Mason. Mason was an Anglican educator who based her educational understandings and practices on the fact that human beings, created in the image of God, are not animals or machines, but persons to be respected and inspired in their both their spiritual education and their academic education. She believed that in fact, that all fruitful growth and learning was the work of the Holy Spirit, and that there was no division between “sacred” and “secular” knowledge.

GREAT RIVER LEARNING offers classroom experiences for children ages 5-10, tutorials for students ages 11-15, and community for intentional practitioners through “Mason in the Morning” meetings once a month and social networking via our private Facebook page.
